Published October 27. 2017 12:27PM

The theft of $11.60 worth of merchandise led to a former Carbon County woman being sentenced to a state correctional institution.

Crystal Ann Weber, 36, of Philadelphia, and formerly of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced by Carbon Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve one to three years in a state prison on a retail theft charge on Tuesday.

She was arrested by state police at Lehighton for an incident at the Shell Station along Route 903 in Jim Thorpe on July 5.

Because of prior arrests for retail theft, the charge was graded a felony three.

She was also ordered to supply a DNA sample and pay court costs of about $1,000.

She was given credit for 111 days spent in prison to date on the charge.
