World Day of Prayer Service to be held

The World Day of Prayer Service 2020 will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Third and Mahoning streets, Lehighton.

The worldwide ecumenical service is to celebrate a day of informed prayer and prayerful action.

The theme for this service is “Rise! Take your Mat and Walk” and was written by the Christian women of Zimbabwe reflecting on the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John 5:2-9a.

Life – Lehighton Interfaith Fellowship is coordinating the service.

Participating in the service are: Shirley Stamm, First Presbyterian Church, The Host Church; Mary Fay Levendusky, All Saint’s Episcopal Church; Faith Gigli, Natalia Weaver and SALM Emma Weaver, Grace Lutheran Church; Brenda Benner, Melissa Fetterman, Pianist and Shirley Radler, Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church; Joy Armbruster, Nevaeh Snyder and Nekya Strohl, St. John’s Lutheran Church; and Beverly Moser, Zion United Church of Christ.

There will be a time for fellowship and refreshments after the service.
