Wreaths placed at Depot Square Park

  • Empty

Lisa Moyer and Cindy Miller begin placing wreaths at Depot Square Park in Tamaqua in preparation for the 150th observance of Memorial Day. A total of 91 wreaths will be placed in the park, memorializing Tamaqua’s sons who died during times of war. The wreath placement is part of a month long series of events coordinated by Tamaqua Remembers volunteers. Miller says the posts are different lengths to create a staggered effect and will be placed in order of conflict. The first row begins with those who perished during the Civil War. Also helping with the project are Terry Koch, Lauren Miller and Todd Miller. KATHY KUNKEL/TIMES NEWS
