Last month was Kathryn's third birthday and the theme of the month chosen by my daughter was pirates.

This week was quite interesting and it began with a conversation on the overnight radio show "Coast to Coast" with George Noory.

Some may blame it on the harvest moon, but there were some eerie new stories that were reported in the local papers during the fall of 1910.

This poem was sent on to me by a subscriber. I thought it appropriate to share it with readers prior to Veterans Day next week.

So there I am in my shower this morning. What should be a pleasant soothing experience turns out to be a very stressful but educational event.

A century ago Philadelphia sports fans followed their beloved Athletics as rabidly as the fans of today support their Phillies.

A couple of weeks ago, I was singing, "A haunting we will go, A haunting we will go, Heigh ho the dairy-o, a haunting we will go."

The way the calendar falls this year is somewhat fitting.

You must never lose faith in mankind because there will always be people out there willing to go the extra mile for you.

Up until last week my columns on unidentified flying objects were sparse.
