Woman injured on Beltzville trail

Published August 11. 2018 08:26PM

A Carbon county woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon while hiking the Sawmill Trail at Beltzville Lake.

The trail runs from Pohopoco Drive to Old Mill Road.

The woman was hiking with several family members when she was injured. She was extricated from the trail by members of the Franklin township fire company and park rangers.

A medical transport helicopter was requested to the scene but weather conditions were a factor. The patient was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how anyone can get injured on this trail unless they are drunk or wear the wrong footwear.
