Lehighton School Board

Lehighton Area School Board approved the following items this week:

• $3,106,663 from the stadium, middle school, high school and elementary center construction accounts.

• The discovery streaming agreement with Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 for the 2017-18 school year at a cost of $2,167.67. Funding will be through the 2017-18 technology budget.

• Hired Michelle Rohrbach and JoLynn Gazo as instructors for the high school SAT prep program at $30 per hour for no more than six total hours and three times per year.

• Hired Victoria DePaulo, Gretchen Laviolette, Melissa Clark, Richard Bennett, Beth Daubert and Melissa Blocker for the high school after-school tutoring program at $30 per hour for no more than three hours per week.

• Hired June Potts as high school winter credit recovery instructor at $30 per hour for no more than 30 hours.

• The resignation of Tammy Steele, lunch time aide, effective Oct. 23.

• Tenure for Lisa Failla, Spanish; Kevin Kotch, business, computer and information technology; and Alison Solley, special education.

• Acknowledged Emily Mantz, from Kutztown University, as a student teacher at East Penn Elementary.

• Approved the second reading for policies on identification badges and school volunteers.
