As a father of a child with autism, I can tell you with certainty it is NOT a hoax. Come out from behind your keyboard and go meet people with autism. It might do you some good.
You would be 1 of 50+ people to tell me their child has autism. I have met children with "autism". They're either obviously mentally retarded, a spoiled brat that needs a swift kick in the @ss or a child that's slightly odd. It's called a personality!

Don't like to play pretend? Don't make eye contact? Don't like to be touched? Repeating actions? Interested in people but don't know how to talk to them? Have trouble understanding other's feelings? This is all normal behavior....especially for children and teens that do nothing but stare at a screen all day! It's the ADHD of this millennium.
Let the disability checks roll in! Cha-ching!
Yeah, it's just personality?! Why didn't I think of that?! I can just beat the autism out of them!? Wow, you mean the solution was that simple?! You have no clue what you're talking about. Please crawl back under your rock.
I don't? This is something I've been researching for years! The CDC estimates only 1 in 10,000 people are affected by "autism". In 2010 the population of Carbon County was just over 65,000 people. By that number there should be 6.25 people. If I know at least 50 people in only 3 towns claiming their kids and entire families are autistic the numbers don't add up.

You are what they call a "mental health consumer". Big Pharma and the doctors advertised the label and you bought it. I could go on about the "gluten intolerant"/celiac disease everyone has contracted, but I won't. It's all psuedo science BS. Remember when Homosexuality was a disease?? Just because people don't like certain behaviors does not make it a disease/disorder!

I dare anyone to say I lack any compassion for these children because I feel for them. They're being labeled as being different and the stigma attached to it is damaging them more than it is doing them any good. You are all horrible parents!!! Your poor child is most likely taking medication that could turn him/her into a full on sped by their 20s. Get the kid some talk therapy and let them be who God designed them to be.
Now we're horrible parents?! You have no idea what you're talking about. Just by the quality of drivel you've spewed in your posts, I can tell you're probably a boomer who has not been directly impacted by autism. Typical arm chair know-it-all. Turn to Us has done tremendous things for the community, especially for kids with disabilities. You have the stones to come on here proclaiming autism is a hoax, thereby discrediting the positive impact they make. Take it somewhere else, troll.
