Build hospital in Palmerton

Published November 07. 2019 01:25PM

LVHN should build their hospital in Palmerton. There are a lot of people here who think we were shortchanged by St. Luke’s when they closed the Palmerton Hospital one year after they bought it.

Palmerton is as close as the Mahoning Valley from the turnpike if they are concerned about the drive for doctors.

St. Luke’s Urgent Care isn’t going to be much help if someone is having a heart attack or stroke.

People are going to die waiting for an ambulance to get them to Lehighton.

We have a nice big field right off 248 for them to build on, and we would welcome LVHN.

Trained Paramedics/EMT's now a days do an EKG and quick assessment on the spot. Most communicate with a trained person at the Hospital E.D. I would think they would life flight you out in a dire situation. Check into your local Ambulance Dept. about their procedures.
Agree, these EMT's and local police are well trained.
In the event of death? Spiritual fitness outweighs physical fitness. Be ready for that last breath, finding a way to shake off the sting of death, and find the Peace of Him.
... just my thoughts on that "Sting" of death for those concerned with having the meat wagon get them over the rough terrain of 248, and to that new hospital.
Peace to you tony.
So based on this response we can only assume that you refuse all health related services...because if you are going to the Dr or getting life saving surgeries you would be a hypocrite.
So what you are saying is that we need a hospital in Lehighton and a hospital in Palmerton....Brilliant! Why hasn't anyone ever thought of this?!?!

Oh wait, we had that and both hospitals almost went bankrupt. Maybe not such a hot idea.
Build in Palmerton if there is a need, as Joe pointed out it would make more sense to allow the hospital to build where they determined it would make more sense to build.
We all have a vested interest in having a hospital or two close by,
