Man charged after he assaulted his girlfriend, bound her with duct tape

Published November 11. 2019 12:59PM

A White Bear (Summit Hill) man was arrested by borough police on Sunday and jailed after he assaulted his girlfriend and bound her wrists and ankles with “duct” style tape.

Christopher J. Sargent, 43, of the 300 block of East White Bear Drive, is facing charges of false imprisonment, simple assault and harassment following the incident at 1:37 a.m. at his residence.

Police said they were dispatched to the residence for a domestic assault and upon arrival found the victim on the front porch of the home, bound at her wrists and ankles by the tape. She told police she wanted to leave the home but Sargent grabbed her by her arms, causing bruising and redness, and proceeded to secure her arms and legs using the tape.

Police said Sargent was advised of his Miranda rights and provided a voluntary written statement to police, admitting to the acts but stating he secured the victim because she was assaulting him.

He is being held at the county prison in Nesquehoning, pending criminal proceedings.

Considering your point, and that excuses him from duct taping her wrists and ankles. They both need help from what I can see. Basic common sense, when one or both stay, they are getting something out of it (healthy or sick) or they wouldn't be there.
Why would he duct tape her hands, wait for police, and then let her drive? This coal region grammar just never gets old. Remember kids...school is important, but crack is apparently importanter.
