WHITEHALL (AP) — Prosecutors in Pennsylvania say a man who died in a car crash was fleeing a drunken driving stop.

Authorities say 55-year-old Todd Kresge, of Whitehall Township, was pronounced dead after the crash Monday night.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin says a Northampton officer approached Kresge in his parked car and became suspicious that he was under the influence.

Martin says the officer was prepared to administer field-sobriety tests when Kresge fled toward Whitehall Township and crashed into another car.

Martin says the other driver’s leg was broken after the crash. The driver was reported to be Travis Mantz of Slatington.

The crash is under investigation.

It didn't have to be this way. Alcohol is over rated. Why do we allow such folly?
Live or loose by how we choose.
I hate alcohol consumption.
Typical do nothing liberal. He deserved it!!! Really???? You don’t know him or his family. Vote Hillary what a joke. She deserves to be in jail now there’s a fact not fiction!!! I do NOT condone drunk driving but these cops should not be doing high speed chases. If I recall correctly from yesterday’s article the guy was minding his own business in a parking lot until Johnny law came rolling up.
I guess with a name like votehillary, a douche bag comment like that is to be expected. Did the other driver deserve a broken leg and a totaled truck?
Absolutely not Billy but again if not for the police chase nobody dies or gets hurt. I hope both parties sue the police
I have an ambulance chasing friend lawyer who is in touch with both parties. Law suit to come as it should. Maybe these will teach these cops. They should be out fighting real crime.
