Can we drain the swamp?

Published November 21. 2019 12:26PM

Dear Editor,

Our Gov. Tom Wolf, and state Attorney General Shapiro, when he’s not hammering the Catholic Church, insist that opioid abuse is an “epidemic.” There are articles in the Times News every single day about drug abuse issues in our area. I continue to wonder why they don’t support President Trump’s plan for a border wall?

The estimate is that 80 to 90 percent of the opioids come from Mexico, yet our state Sen. Bob Casey doesn’t support the border wall and Republican Sen. Pat Toomey isn’t sure. Apparently politics, and anti-Trump bias, are more important than the lives of our residents, especially our younger people.

I guess we will be more concerned when a “career politician” is in charge. The border wall is a “no-brainer” that everyone should support because it will also help with many other issues besides illegal drugs.

Wolf and Casey would prefer to sue American pharmaceutical companies because they have deep pockets. Can we drain a swamp this deep?

A wall isn't going to keep the drugs out. They're everywhere and regardless of a wall or not, people will find a way to get them here. It's sad but true.
Day Tripper, do you lock your doors at night? If so, why? Those who want to get in will find a way.
They (Democrats) love the perils of drugs. They don't care about the people, they care about the crisis and how they can use it to create even more poor victims. Get them hooked and destitute, and then run to their aid. We're from the government and we're here to help. Free this, that, and everything else.
Warren’s plans would create a plethora of new federal offices, federal agencies, making government bigger to serve you, when actually, you're serving them.
No, Democrats love the chaos. Open society, no borders. All the while they have guards security and walled villas. \
