Kidnapping incident ends in death of suspect

Published December 02. 2019 07:16AM

A kidnapping incident in Luzerne County on Sunday ended in the death of the suspect.

State police at Wyoming said the incident began at 3:18 p.m. Sunday when the county 911 center received a call concerning a male subject holding a teen girl at knife point in the area of the Greater Nanticoke Area Senior High School.

Nanticoke police responded to the scene. The suspect was identified as Jordan Patrick Oliver, 20. He was observed holding a 15-year-old teen with a knife to her throat. Nanticoke officers attempted to negotiate with Oliver, and the girl became separated from him. The teen was directed to a nearby Nanticoke police cruiser as officers attempted to take Oliver into custody.

A struggle ensued and Oliver sprayed mace on the officers and was able to flee in the Nanticoke police cruiser with the female inside. State police then took jurisdiction of the incident and the major case team was activated in conjunction with the county district attorney’s office. An Amber Alert was issued for the girl and an arrest warrant was secured for Oliver.

The investigation led to Oliver being found in a wooded area in Hanover Township in the Warrior Run area.

A perimeter was set up and the state police special emergency response team located Oliver and the girl. The response team made contact with Oliver. Deadly force was used against Oliver, and the victim was freed unharmed.

Ya know.....your an absolute moron. Theres good and bad in all cops-Im not really fond of some of them either, but you have to respect them-they do a job that your to coward to do. I think you should pray you never need one
What I want to know is why it took them 4 hours to put out an amber alert or any details. Nanticoke and wilkesbarre police posted about the cruiser having gone missing 4 hour prior to any information about the situation.
Ya know when I saw the Amber Alert on my phone I thought huh ford interceptor model. That's a police cruiser model. Somebody must have picked one up at an auction. NEVER imagined this is what happened.

I wasn't there so I don't know what happened, but this is kinda why I like police officers to be type A, aggressive, F the gray areas, not there to be your friend types, some might call a$$holes. Anyway nice to see the Troopers figured it out.
The girls is safe, returned to her parents, our prayers were answered.

The first story described the kid holding a girl at knife point, later maced a cop and stole the cruiser that had the girl already inside the cruiser.

So glad the boy decided not to immediately kill the girl after he stole the cruiser, and bless the police that found them. Our prayers to the officer that shot the young kid, a tough burden for any soul to carry, no matter how justified.

Sincerely,

Citizen David F. Bradley Sr.

I’m very much “pro LEO”, but the other news sources say the 15 year old was romantically involved with the “kidnapper”. She was supposedly him bandaging up
I think there’s more to it than we see reported here...
