Who is “so smart”?

We got an invitation for "Nextdoor Franklin" quite a while ago. It looked legitimate. I signed up my email address but never confirmed it. However, I continue to get emails from them. It is a marketing scheme for local businesses. I will get real estate listings and other ads, but it always seemed a bit sketchy. There are lots of complaints online about these sites, and they are all over the country.
