Several injured in rear-end crash

Several people were injured Friday afternoon in a crash along Route 54 in Rush Township. The crash occurred about 2 p.m. as a sport utility vehicle was traveling east and stopped to make a left turn into the entrance to Lake Hauto when it was struck in the rear by another eastbound car. Ambulances from Tamaqua and Ryan Township as well as Lehighton paramedics responded to the scene. Rush Township Police are investigating the incident. COPYRIGHT LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
