Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua police reported on the following arrests and incidents:

• Shawn J. Leone, 19, of Tamaqua, was charged with defiant trespassing stemming from a Dec. 14 incident. Police were dispatched to Schuylkill Avenue for a person trespassing. On scene police knocked on the door and were greeted by Leone, who claimed he was staying at the residence. Police advised him that the victim, who was not home, did not want him there. Police walked him out of the apartment and he left. Charges were pressed by the victim.

• Benjamin Davis, 69, of Coaldale, was charged with public drunkenness. Charges stem from an incident at 1:37 p.m. Jan. 10. Police were dispatched to Cedar Street for a man lying on the sidewalk. Police saw Davis, and said he was highly intoxicated. EMS arrived on scene and helped sit Davis up, who refused to be looked at by EMS. Davis was taken to his home on Coaldale.

• Jade E. Boyle, 26, of Tamaqua, has been charged with harassment and criminal mischief due to Jan. 11 incident. Police received a call from Francis Eisenberg, 31, who stated that Boyle punched him and broke his glasses. Police then called Boyle, who said she spoke to police earlier that afternoon, as she wanted Eisenberg out of her apartment. She said they were in an argument, he pushed her first and she pushed back. She said that Eisenberg tried to take her vehicle keys. Eisenberg was charged with harassment.

• Sean A. Lydon, 22, of Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges stem from a Dec. 27 incident. Police initiated a traffic stop after recognized that the vehicle Lydon was driving had a front headlight not working. Upon contact with Lydon, the driver, police could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Lydon told police that there was a grinder in the glove box and a tiny amount of marijuana in the center console.

• John L. Smith II, 30, of Tamaqua, was charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. Charges stem from an incident at 7:37 p.m. Dec. 24. A witness saw Smith attempt to break into a house on Market St. The witness confronted Smith, and he said that it was his dad’s house. The witness knew the property owner and that Smith was not associated with him. Police were contacted and Smith was picked up by police at his house.

• Keyller I. Gonzalez, 27, of Lansford, was charged with harassment and simple assault due to a Dec. 2 incident. Police were dispatched to East Broad Street for a report of an assault not in progress. On scene, the victim stated that she got into an argument with Gonzalez, who swung her phone across the room. Gonzalez then allegedly smacked his phone off her chest. The victim did have a red welt in the shape of a phone on her upper left breast.
