Mahoning rejects police grievances

Published February 07. 2020 01:36PM

The board of supervisors of Mahoning Township recently rejected grievances filed by multiple officers of the municipal police department.

Supervisors Bruce Steigerwalt, David Pollock and Myron Blahy unanimously denied a total of 25 grievances filed by four different members of its police force, all of which stemmed from incidents dated back to December 2019. Steigerwalt, Pollock and Blahy hopped from grievance to grievance, denying each one with virtually no discussion.

All three denied to comment on the grievances and their mutual decision to reject them.

Supervisors Robert Slaw and Brian Reeser were absent.

The move to turn down grievances submitted by officers Corey Frey, Tyler Meek, Amie Barclay and Jeffrey Frace was made by supervisors during a special meeting held Wednesday night.

No information was available on the nature of the grievances. Immediately after the meeting, supervisors went into executive session.
