Police: Man found unresponsive in snow, had drugs, warrant
A Lehighton man faces drug and alcohol charges after he followed a woman near a local store.
Dakota James Wentz, 23, of the 300 block of South Third St., was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
On Jan. 18, police were called to the 100 block of West Railroad Street for a report of a suspicious man following a woman home from a nearby store and then rolling around in the snow.
When police arrived, Wentz was sitting in the snow and was unresponsive. Police woke him up and as he tried to stand, a hypodermic needle was spotted at his feet.
He admitted that the needle was his and that he had pills, additional needles and fentanyl.
Police also learned there was an active warrant out on Wentz for failing to appear so he was taken into custody.
