Nesquehoning man charged with harassment of neighbors
A Nesquehoning man was charged with harassment after police said he harassed his neighbors.
According to Nesquehoning, on Sept. 12, officers were called for a complaint on Laurel Street by two residents who said they were harassed by Howard B. McLaughlin, 43, also of Laurel Street.
The victims said McLaughlin had been harassing them for a while and they finally had enough. They reported McLaughlin would cat call the woman and make comments toward her, and would yell at the man to get off his block, among other things.
McLaughlin denied the incidents at first, saying he was listening to music.
A week later, McLaughlin reported a different neighbor flipped him off. The neighbor told police it was McLaughlin that flipped her off and yelled at her. Police noted that the neighbor was previously the victim in another harassment case against McLaughlin and the court told McLaughlin to have no contact with her.
Four additional harassment incidents occurred between the first victims and McLaughlin over the next month, including more catcalling and eggs being thrown at a vehicle and in the driveway.
