To whom is your loyalty?

To the editor:

As a card-carrying Republican, I find it ridiculous, yet believable, that the fringe element of the Republican Party equates belief in God to only themselves. They seem to be under the impression that all Democrats are sinners.

We were taught about the Ten Commandments at an early age. Do we try to follow them? Yes. Are we always successful? No. In the history of mankind, only one individual can make that claim. He was, of course, Jewish.

Nobody on the face of the earth can make that claim. That goes for all religious leaders, those currently employed in all three branches of the federal government, and those in state government. You try, but are not always successful. Can you pray for forgiveness? Yes.

To whom is your loyalty? God or a political party?
