Borough Manager Maureen Sterner said the owner, Alex Spivak Commercial Source Real Estate in Forest Hills, New York, is working with the zoning officer to board it up and make it safe. The roof looks shot, but from these pictures it is hard to tell about the structure. A June aerial view shows this damage is recent, probably the snow storm. If a roof is solid, a building can last a long time. With water intrusion, the life can be shortened substantially.
