State police report on two Palmerton school incidents

Published January 08. 2019 02:50PM

State police at Lehighton released details on two recent incidents at Palmerton Area School District buildings.

Police responded to the Palmerton junior high school at 2:30 p.m. Friday, because an eighth grade girl and her mother said that another girl allegedly stated she wanted to blow up the school, according to Trooper Justin Magluilo.

The threat was reported to state police and the Palmerton Borough police.

Police also responded to the school on Friday to meet with a principal “regarding an incident between a book bag and two students.”

The incident, Franck reported, occurred two days earlier, just before 2:30 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
