A look back: Jan. 9, 1973
The Lehighton Area School Board decided last night it will look into an addition to the Franklin Township Elementary School due to population growth in that area.
School board members agreed there was growth in the student population in the township area, and the addition may take the form of a second story on the present structure.
The board plans to consult Wolf Hendricks and Associates, an Allentown architectural firm, to determine the feasibility of adding either a second floor or expanding the present building horizontally.
The discussion grew from a request by the Franklin Township Joint School Authority to repair the roof of the existing building.
Comments
Good afternoon. The declines in enrollment since this period was the fear of the 'tax and build' regime. They chose gentrification. Gentrification removes the older population that pay taxes but doesn't use the district assets. Through unwarrented tax increases, and accumulating a multi million dollar surplus, tens of millions, the regime manipulated the community with lies. Silencing those exposing the lies the regime was telling has been their demise.
Evil people, lying, adding a legacy of debt harmed the community. Wayne Wentz, Larry Stern, Gloria Bowman, David Krouse, Andrew Yenser, and Steve Holland all chose to harm the community as they acted above the intent of the law. The requirement for community input was surpressed.
Remove the evil, vote wisely.
Sincerely,
Citizen David F. Bradley Sr.
