Coaldale and Tamaqua police are investigating a hit-and-run crash which occurred late Monday night along Route 209.

The incident began at 10:30 p.m. when a man traveling south struck a vehicle driven by a woman at the entrance to St. Luke’s Hospital. The driver continued on, losing control striking a snow pile along the roadway.

He crossed the parking lot of Sister's Cantina before plowing through another snow bank, coming to rest in the snow off the roadway. He was being evaluated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance.

Police report they believe he was driving while impaired and charges are pending. The other driver was not injured in the incident.

Comments
It was a hit-and-run from the first accident with the lady at the entrance to St Luke's. Call it hit-and-drive, then.
