9-year-old Lehighton girl creates hair clips business
Despite her young age, Reagan Abelovsky has proved to be an entrepreneur.
Though only in grade school, the 9-year-old Lehighton Elementary Center pupil is indeed all business.
With the help of her mother, Autumn, Reagan has created her own business, “Autumn’s Accents.”
The business features girls hair clips, designed by Reagan herself.
Reagan’s clips range from $2 to $6 and are sold in sets or single barrettes.
Themes range from Holidays to Sports to Fun Everyday items and fads such as Narwhals, Unicorns, Emojis and Llamas.
“I have to consider what other people will like,” Reagan said. “The unicorns are the biggest seller.”
Reagan’s mom made hair clips for her as soon as she had enough hair on her head to put into a clip.
Once she was able, Reagan began to help.
Reagan has her hair clips on consignment at Jenny’s Sweets and More at 114 S. First St., in Lehighton.
She will hold a Vendor Spotlight Event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Jenny’s Sweets and More.
