Pocono police officer in crash

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Association reported that a Pocono Mountain Regional Police Officer was involved in a crash just before midnight Saturday.

The incident happened at the intersection of Route 940 and Heath Lane in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County. The officer was transported to Lehigh Valley - Pocono Hospital by EMS for evaluation. The police officer’s vehicle was struck by a driver suspected to be intoxicated.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
