Meuser plans to meet with 9th District commissioners

Published February 14. 2019 12:26PM

One-time political opponents Republican state Rep. Dan Meuser and Schuylkill County Commissioners’ Chairman George Halcovage are coming to the table.

And it will be a large table.

After conversations with Meuser, Halcovage is arranging a meeting between Meuser and county commissioners from all nine of the districts Meuser represents.

John Gower, deputy district director for Meuser, attended the Schuylkill County Commissioners meeting Wednesday to announce the plans for the District 9 County Commissioners’ meeting.

Gower thanked Halcovage for working to set up the meeting, telling the board, “I look forward to working on projects with you.”

Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District is located in eastern Pennsylvania and includes portions of Berks, Carbon, Columbia, Lebanon, Luzerne, Montour, Northumberland and Schuylkill counties.

After the commissioners’ meeting, Halcovage said that bringing all the counties’ leaders together will be an opportunity for Meuser and the county commissioners from throughout his district to learn from one another.

“We will all meet to discuss common issues we all face, and work together to find solutions to those issues,” Halcovage said. “It’s an opportunity for us all to find out what’s going on in other counties and take our concerns directly to our representative.”

Halcovage, Meuser and Scott Uehlinger, all Republicans, ran in the May 2018 primary election for the House seat vacated by Lou Barletta, who made an unsuccessful Senate bid. On the Democratic side, Denny Wolff, Susan Quick and Gary Wegman were candidates. Meuser defeated Wolff in the general election.

Gower noted that Meuser has an office at 121 Progress Ave., Suite 110, Losch Plaza, Pottsville. He also has offices in Washington, D.C., and Palmyra.

Halcovage said that a meeting date has not yet been set.

What does this scum say about his Fuhrer going to declare a "National Emergency" to build a wall. This is surely the way of a dictator, democracy will end in this country when this nut declares this to be a National Emergency. .
TG. You are aware that the way you present yourself here is indicative of your intellect and disposition, right? What makes you think that you are “all-knowing”? I think you are a victim of insidious “Fake News”. Some channels insult America all of the time. That is not right. It is time to build a wall. Democratic opposition dictates it. Twice before democrats voted for a wall. Now, since they hate “Trump”, no dice. Now, an impasse dictates an “Emergency”. Also, 14B is available from El Chapo. Be level-headed.
Democracy will end in this country when a Presidential election is legitimate, but, some refuse to accept the outcome, as in 2016. Democracy will end when the FBI is weaponized to take out a presidential candidate. Democracy will end when an illegitimate investigation, based on a fake dossier and paid “research”, and False FICA documents are created. Democracy will end when one candidate is exonerated before the investigation is started, while agents are planted in the other candidates staff. Don’t be blinded by hate.
TG, this is the typical liberal response to argument. Name calling. When someone comes to a forum such as this, you would think they come to learn. Instead, when you loose the intellectual argument you throw hate around. On another post, you called President Trump, fuhrer. Do you still stand by that statement? If so, you are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. The USA is the best country in the world, no matter who is President. You owe it to yourself to be intellectually honest and seek the truth, in spite of your bias. You make an absurd statement. If you believe that you have some serious problems. That is not even up to the level of weak argument. “Your are a moron.” Make Tamaqua proud-watch your diction too.
