Candidates get on primary ballots as petition-filing ends
The petition-filing period relating to the 2019 primary election in Carbon County closes Tuesday with the close of business hours at the Carbon County Bureau of Elections.
The period, which lasted about three weeks, provided people aspiring to public office the opportunity to get their names on the ballot in their respective municipalities. Offices on the county, borough, township and school district levels are up for grabs this time around.
The latest list of people who officially became candidates for the respective offices includes:

Michael S. George: 835 Strohl’s Valley Road, Lehighton, seeking a six-year term on the Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors.
