Jim Thorpe police report Social Security scam

Jim Thorpe police are asking residents to be aware of a Social Security scam that was reported in the borough.

According to police, a borough resident received a phone call from a man identifying himself as “David Miller” from the phone number 570-338-4035. The man said the borough resident’s Social Security number was compromised.

The man asked for the resident’s date of birth and Social Security number. Police ask residents to not give out any identifying information to scammers.
