Democrats for Progress to meet

Published May 24. 2019 12:50PM

Members of the Carbon County Democrats for Progress have invited Tara Zrinski, Northampton council member at large and longtime environmental activist to lead a discussion of the Green New Deal at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the downstairs meeting room at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, 24 W. Broadway.

Zrinski says that while she still considers herself an environmental activist, as a council member she must be knowledgeable about a range of management issues, including participating in the overseeing of the county-owned Gracedale Nursing Home, the acquisition of new voting machines, and the purchase of the Human Services building as well as holding positions on the LNIA Airport Authority, Conservation Districts and Wildlands Conservancy.

Zrinski said, “That’s one of the reasons I support the Green New Deal. It doesn’t just deal with obvious environmental issues but also tackles issues that concern the average citizen like jobs, infrastructure and social justice.”

Carbon County Democratic Chairman Billy O’Gurek will also give a post-election analysis.

Comments
Only among progressives, will social justice get tied in with environment. This would be entertaining.
DO are you putting on the show? You are the biggest a**clown around. You are so incompetent you would fall off the stage. Joke on you rude vulgar brudda!
There once was a clown DO,
Whose brain couldn’t go.
He thought he was great,
But he was filled with hate.
He stuck his finger up his arse,
Found his fame as a farce.
