Boater rescued from Lehigh

Published May 21. 2018 11:47PM

A boater had to be rescued from the waters of the Lehigh River Monday afternoon.

The incident began just after 4 p.m. when it was reported a man fell out of his boat near the McCall bridge.

When firefighters from Lehighton and Franklin township arrived on scene just south of the bridge they found the man in the center of the river clinging to a tree branch.

The Lehighton fire department used their boat to reach the victim and take him to safety.

I'm so glad he had a lifejacket on - I'm very glad to hear he was rescued.
