Update: Motorcyclist identified in Route 248 crash

The man killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night has been identified as Justin Singer, 35, of Kunkletown, according to Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller. He was originally reported to be in his mid-50s.

State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred just before midnight Friday on Route 248 near Bowmanstown.

Police said the driver was suspected under the influence of alcohol and driving at a high rate of speed.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His 1999 Honda motorcycle was towed from the scene.
