A Jim Thorpe man was cited after he caused a crash in Nesquehoning earlier this week.

Just before 7:30 a.m. on June 19, Nesquehoning police were called to the intersection of routes 209 and 93 for a two-vehicle crash.

Officers found that a Jeep Grand Cherokee had attempted to make a left-hand turn and turned into the path of a Dodge Charger. No injuries were reported.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Budd Jameson Thomas Jr., 58, of North Avenue.

Police learned that his driver’s license had been expired since 1986 and that his license had been suspended due to past DUI related offenses.

Thomas was charged with driving while under suspension — DUI related; failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic while turning; and driving without a valid license.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Comments
I heard Christmas at the Carbon County prison is very festive considering driving under a DUI suspension is a automatic 6 month sentence.
