A broken valve in a pump house owned by Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority caused a mess along a street in Lansford on Monday night.

The deluge sent water and debris across Dock Street. The street was closed until about 9 p.m. as the water receded.

The authority said to its knowledge there was no interruption of service to customers.

Authority Administrator Tobias Krajcirik said the problem was a valve inside the pump house located along Dock Street. Authority employees had the leak fixed Monday night.

Water was as high as 2 feet inside the building before the garage doors were opened, Councilman Bob Silver said.

Debris was scattered across Dock Street.

Krajcirik said he didn’t know how much water was lost. The authority was checking its wells today.

They planned to clean up the mess inside the garage today.

Silver said borough workers were available to assist with the cleanup if needed today.

The authority serves more than 4,000 customers in Lansford, Coaldale and Lake Hauto.

The Lehighton School district's financial control valve, the board, also failed.

Past Treasurer Andrew Yenser failed miserably. Rubber stampers Rita Spinelli, Wayne Wentz, Larry Stern and Steve Holland let the flood of waste and corruption damage the financial solvency of our educational system.

With the morality of these feckless five in question, will the State step in?

I am seeking their apology and resignation so the district can be fixed using common sense, and a set of rigid moral principles.
One is "Don't spend more that you have." "Ask don't just take." "Verify the information before you act." After all, the email from that Nigerian prince could be a fake. However, the veteran exposing Tkack's behavior in Tkack's own email is more likely to be true. And our board should consider checking the morality of all the people copied on the email. They appear to have failed to provide oversight or efforts correcting the atrocities. Just sayin.
Transparency benefits the community.

Sincerely,

Citizen David F. Bradley Sr.
