Police: Device at S. Whitehall crash scene not a bomb

Published August 17. 2019 03:52PM

Police cleared a scene Friday after a suspicious device was found at a crash scene.

At 9:44 a.m. Friday, state police responded to a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Route 22 Westbound at Cedar Crest Boulevard.

Upon investigating the crash, the South Whitehall Fire Department observed a device that replicated a pipe bomb. As a result, the Allentown Fire Department Bomb Squad and the Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device and Explosive Section responded to the scene. Traffic on State Route 22 Westbound was closed temporarily while the device was taken into possession by HDES.

Police transported the device to a field in South Whitehall Township, and determined it was not a pipe bomb.

Lehigh County Hazmat Team assisted at the scene.

An operator from a vehicle in the crash was transported at the scene by Cetronia Ambulance to Lehigh County Hospital Cedar Crest for their injuries.

Comments
Not a bomb. No one ever said trump troopers didn't suffer from trisomy 21. Having a leader who suffers from the same is why thet feel "special".
