Pa. recognizes Palmerton Special Olympics Medal winners

At the Capitol on April 8, 2019, PA State Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) hosted two Special Olympic athletes from Carbon County who won gold medals in international competitions. Delina Jo Rodrigues of Palmerton took first place in two powerlifting events at the 2019 Special Olympic World Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Matthew Anthony of Palmerton and his father, Christopher, were winners of the Unified Bowling Doubles event at the Special Olympics North America Bowling Competition in Las Vegas.
