Special Olympics Athletes Celebrated in Palmerton

On Saturday, Carbon County celebrated two Special Olympic athletes, Delina Rodrigues and Mathew Anthony, with a ceremony at Palmerton Park. Rodrigues won a gold in the world Special Olympics, while Anthony won at nationals.

When the Palmerton Area High School Band began to play, Rodrigues and Anthony marched into the park, accompanied by members of the Palmerton United Veteran’s Organization.
